Jay SpainJay Spain is an internationally recognized filmmaker, industry guide, community activist, and production business owner. He creates artistic projects that connect the stories of everyday people, stirring our deepest humanity, illuminating everyday efforts as inspiring, and renewing our intention to find a way forward, with compassion.

He is a Sundance Film Festival veteran and a member of the advisory board for the Woods Hole Film Festival. His first feature documentary as director is Live and Let Go– An American Death.

He also produced and filmed Moving Midway, which premiered at the Film Society of Lincoln Center New York Film Festival in New York City on September 12, 2008. It was acquired for distribution by First Run Features and theatrically released to North American audiences. Moving Midway was chosen as one of the two “Top Documentaries of 2008” by the New York Observer and New York Magazine and in the “Top Ten Movies of 2008“ by the LA Weekly. Moving Midway can be seen online and in periodic screenings on 35mm at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC where it is part of the permanent film collection.

His upcoming original content On Dix Hill will explore the conscious conversion of a historic mental health hospital campus into an international destination park in a modern city.
